Anyone familiar with Federal LE shottie rounds?

Im not sure about the specifics concerning the flite control wad used in the LE Tactical loads, but I can speak from experience when I say these allow for very tight patterns at considerable distances. For instance, out of my Benelli (18" smoothbore), I was able to keep all 9 pellets on target at roughly 40 to 45 yards. Of course, some of this may have had something to do with the hard chromed bore, not sure.

Within "practical" buckshot distances (7 to 25 yards) the pattern was insanely tight and very consistent. All of this with low-recoil rounds; needless to say, I was impressed.

Not to nitpick here, but its "flite" not "flight"; at least how Federal spells this feature.

The flight control wad has fins that expand upon leaving the bore and slow the wad down releasing the shot from the shotcup in a more controlled manner. Traditional wads can fly through the shot cloud and blow the pattern. Very tight patterns compared to traditional buckshot shells.

Keep up. Did you not see the thread that went on, and on, and on about the word "shottie?"

If you want to play along with us geezers "shotguns" is the game.

This is a slightly used Federal FliteControl wad. The petals are at the rear of the wad. The flaps on the side open on exit, stripping the wad from the shot.

Federal's shotshell rounds are usually considered Very good stuff and I'll third and forth that opinion. My 930 SPX gives 6-7inch patterns at 25 yards with Federal's LE132-00 reduced recoil buckshot. (Hell, I can't hold a 7 inch group at 25 yards :( )..

Here is a conversion list for the Law Enforcement rounds to the Flight Control equivalents, or as close as they come....

LE127-00 ..... PFC154-00
9ea 00 buck 1325 fps

LE132-00 ..... PFC154-00 LR
9ea 00 buck 1145fps Low recoil

LE133-00 ..... No equivalent
8ea 00 buck 1145

LE133-00PR .....No equivalent
8ea 00 buck 1145. Supposedly the shot remains in the shotcup until impact, functioning like a "MagSafe" for buckshot. Very little literature about it found so far. (which means I could be 179-degrees off)

LEB127 RS ..... PB127RS
TruBall Rifled Slug, 1oz 1600

LEB127 LRS .....PB127LRS
Low Recoil TruBall Slug 1oz. 1300fps

There are just to many hip-hoppin' morons running around stealing oxygen these days.

"Shottie" is seven letters just to use a non-word that brands one as an idiot.
"Shotgun" is also seven letters, but saves one from coming off like a complete tool.

Unless these low IQ specimens "think" this is a generational thing it is not. It's an issue of being a man versus being a punk.

You don't by chance call your Colts "Colties", do you?

Yikes....Enough about this guys "shottie" comment. Heck, even Ive used the term "shotty" (not shottie) on occasion and have yet to receive any complaints. After all, this is the internet and therefore, shorthand, slang, acronyms or whatever, is par for the course. Get used to it. Besides, I think we all are intelligent enough to know that this guy was referring to "shotgun." So give him a break on this one and lets all worry about more important things. ;)

Meanwhile, others need to graduate out of their Huggies, put down the drool soaked game controller, and wait for their balls to drop before getting on the internet with their social retard lingo.

I hate the Gangsta Wannabe Malibu's Most Wanted Vanilla Ice types as much as the next guy.... but do you find it funny that one of the guys taking offense to the term shotty is using the screen name "gat"? :) Humorous, methinks.

Id like to comment, wait..I need to put down my Xbox controller (I have a scorching game of Gears of War 2 in process). The individual who started this thread may not have been "in the know" in terms of whats deemed "correct" nomenclature here. Either that or he simply didnt/doesnt care (similar to myself). Regardless, this is a weapons forum...not a grammatical one. Besides, I have yet to see any Rhodes scholar types here myself.

So, as I mentioned before, lets give this guy a break and try to help him out rather than reducing ourselves to the equivalent of the proverbial high school bully.

I sold my xbox to buy baby formula and the only huggies being changed here are my daughter's. This is stupid to bust on a guy for calling a a shotgun by a nickname.

No but if a guy comes around here talking of "shotties" then maybe we could politely tell him that a shotgun is serious tool that deserves respect and should be called by its proper name. Then we could actually answer his questions instead of acting like crotchety old farts.

My handle is an attempt at a pun of "That's Italian," since I prefer weapons from the peninsula.

There's nothing remotely amusing about "shottie" or "shotty."

Maybe that is harsh. It is amusing visualizing the 'tards who drop such words while expecting respect.
