Hello all. New here, so please let me duck behind the berm between shots! Anyhow, I've got a USP 45c which I like and it's had probably 6000+ rounds thru it (it's the only handgun I've got right now, but I hope to change that soon!). After only about 250 rounds, I noticed that there was an actual shallow indentation in the right side of the chamber, as if an ejecting case had somehow damaged it. I always thought brass was softer than all that. Worse, there was an actual chunk, although a tiny one, missing from the chamber immediately below the indentation. I was disturbed, but people (I won't name names) convinced me this would smooth out. It never did, but it doesn't seem to affect accuracy. Now, before you accuse me of running some ++++++P loads thru it, this happened with factory ammo, though I've since run everything under the sun thru it with no problems. Yes, I feared for safety, but I ran the lightest loads I could get away with for some 500 rounds and gradually worked my way up (nervously!) and watched for signs of distress, but the problem never changed, better or worse. So, finally the question. I was thinking of getting a replacement bbl and since I've heard awful things about H&K customer service, does anyone have an opinion about Jarvis gunsmithing as a source of extra bbls? It's too hard to find parts for USPs, which is my only real complaint about them.
