Anyone ever heard of Spegel grips?

I just traded for a S&W m65-5 and it came with a set of Spegel boot grips. They are very nicely made. They are much slimmer formed than the Hogues and Badger grips I usually buy but are still very comfortable. I also like the fact that the non-screw side has the threaded area filled in and finished.

You're lucky to get these with you're revolver. They're sometimes difficult to get, only a few places carry them. I'm one of those people who tries every type of holster and grip and still can't find the perfect one. But the Spegel grips come the closest for me.

IIRC, Craig Spegel was the developer of the style of grips that are under the generic term "boot grips." He's a custom grip maker and considered quite good by a number of the "gurus" out there. I believe he was the one who designed the grips for the S&W Airweight J-frame line.

Mr. Craig is a fine gentleman and a pleasure to chat with.

He also makes one heck of a Revolver Stock and Pistol Grips too. :)

I met C. S. at a gunshow in ....wait for it... Portland.

He goes to one a year there, PBP so you may be able to meet him yourself. And I agree that he was a fine person to talk to. And that I want more of his grips.
