Anyone ever buy a Glock from Atlanta factory

I was told that when you buy a Glock directly from the Glock factory in Atlanta that it's cheaper and they custom fit the grip to your hand. Is this true and does any have experience with this?

The factory is in Austria. No custom frames that I have ever heard of. As far as buying from Smyrna, that will only happen if you are a stocking dealer and have an account set up with them, they do not sell to the general public directly. To do so would undermine their dealer and distribution network.
 
Glock Smyrna used to sell direct to *Law Enforcement Only* at the office in Highland Park but they quite around 1996. I bought one from them about the time they quit selling direct. In fact, I just lucked out that the sales guy was cool and let me go ahead and get it. :)

Now, all LE sales in the Atlanta area are done exclusively through Smyrna Police Distributors. I think they only sell to LE though. Never heard of the "fitted" grip thing and I know lots of officers, including myself, that bought direct before they stopped it.

BTW, LE officer pricing with a department letterhead is sweet. Departmental govt. purchase order pricing is even sweeter. :D
