Anyone else here a member of their State's Defense Force?

N.Y.G MP Pvt

New member
I am a member NY's state defense force and by the looks of things here in NYS it may be time to get outa dodge. I am interested in relocating(south west or so) and am interested in signing up in my new home state(whereever that may be It'll have to be shooter friendly). Any info anyone may have on their state militia I would appreciate. Thanx

New Mexico still utilises a Sheriff's Posse. How would that do?

I was under the impression that any able bodied man is automatically a member of the state militia. I don't need to enroll, I am already a part of it and so is all of the men in my neighborhood.

I think the Right to peacefully assemble in my state has been banned? Unless you have a permit. :(

I am an officer in the National Guard in the fine state of Indiana. We have an MP unit in Indianapolis, I believe. We also have VERY nice carry laws. You pay ~$10 to get fingerprinted at the local police/sheriff's dept, come back in a week to pick up your notarized application, send it, with a $15 money order, to the State Police and soon you too can have your own little "pink slip." I applied back in '96 and it took about 6 weeks to get my permit. I just renewed and it took about 1.5 weeks to get that back. The other nice thing is that IN CHL is recogized in many other states.

Here! I hold the rank of O-3 (Capt) in the SC State Defence Force (State Guard). SC is only(?) state to have an elected Adjutant General, and he is given command over the Army NG., the Air NG, SC EPD, and SCSG. We were reformed in 1989 after Hurricane Hugo as an MP organizationand a force multiplier for local law enforcement, but now due to "liability" issues, we are now...heck what are we now...the mission has been changed to make the whole concept more politially palatable. We no longer have weaps training at our AT!
