Anyone else ever wonder?

If you have ever tried to put 22LR bullets back in the little cardboard box so they look arranged correctly, then you know how tedious it is. I wonder how they do it with high speed and accuracy at the ammo factory.
Have you seen the machine they use?
I tend to think about strange things.

Never gave it a second thought.

Now I am thinking about it.

Hope you're happy.

(Also hope somebody has a video of the machine/lowest-paid-worker-in-ammunition-industry/hamster that does this work so we can find out how it's done.)

It's a machine !!!

Not really but it had to be a machine that did it. Then one day, a machine broke down which gave birth to the Bulk-Pack. Saved a bunch of money and created a bunch of headaches. .....

Be Safe !!!

By golly Mr. jaro I found 6 boxes at Wallyworld a couple of weeks ago. Saleslady wouldn't let me have but 2 boxes. My wife was with me and the gal said she could buy 2 also. I briefly thought about that and then decided to make two other peoples day and left there with only mine. I know how aggravating it is to not be able to find 22s myself. I felt doubly good about my two boxes and happy to help a couple other people.

That was a really nice gesture... but with only two boxes, no wonder you're sitting around and playing with them. :p

That's true, but dumpin' em out and puttin' back in the boxes correctly sure makes it seem like I've got a lot more.

I have this container that bungee cords came in, about a foot tall and 4-6 inches in diameter. I sat a while and stacked about 200 45 ACP brass perfectly. I must have been really bored.:p

Correctly? Never saw a box that wasn't loaded correctly but then again I don't shoot out of box's much. My wife found me a leather change purse. Black leather and the top has a spring that snaps it closed and will stay open.
Will hold about 200. With 22's in it just set it down on the bench and the bottom flattens out and stays upright.

I'll take a stab at it... just a guess though.

There is a machine that sets the first 25 in the box with the base of the cartridges on the bottom of the box in perfect alignment. Then the machine releases them... Then they move on to the next bit of machinery that sets the next 25 cartridges down with the bullets pointing down to the bottom of the box... and there you go, 50 rounds, perfectly, tightly, and efficiently packed in the smallest box possible. After that, who knows... maybe there is an inspector who views the boxes to be sure all 50 rounds are in place and maybe even another person to put the covering sleeve over the top of the packed box!

I remember pulling those things out as a kid thinking "Bah! once you pull a few of these out the whole box turns into a big mess!"

:)
