Anyone Else an Election Official?

My first time was last November.

I was the "Sheriff". That just meant I was in charge of the Flag and Posters. Actually the job entails enforcing Electioneering Laws. And I did insure ballots where properly counted at the box.

I enjoyed it and just recently attended the meeting for May 23rd primaries here in Kentucky.

Anyone else work the polls?

P.S. I didn't think this really fit at Legal/Political. However, I have no problem being corrected.

Yes. In my homeowner's association.

Laugh, if you will, but in Virginia, HOA's have nearly the same powers as a town or village council in other states.

Now if you'll excuse me, every Thursday the HOA BBQs a unicorn for the officers (purchased with members dues, of course), and I have to get the fire ready. :D

OH DUH! God I'm dense at 2:01 a.m. Eastern... :D

I read your message head as "elected" official sted "election" official.

Yikes... Bedtime.

I'm a [sometimes] election official, a "judge" who helps run the polls on election day. I thought it would be a public service and a way to be sure that my votes weren't winding up in a circular file somewhere. ;)
