Anyone Carry an Exotic for CCW ?

I heard recently of a local shooter who occasionally steps out with a Japanese Nambu as his CCW piece. This is actually a gun I'd like to learn more about, I didn't even think you could get any ammo for it but then again this guy does reload.

I also recall someone posting a question here one time about carrying black powder pistols for CCW. So the thought occurred, does anyone here carry an exotic, I don't believe the 1911 counts ;) also any info on the Nambu with particular reference to its ballistics would be appreciated.

My dad's late best friend used to carry a matched pair of Colt 1903 Pocket Autos in .380 acp. These were not contributing factors in his demise. ;)

I've a friend who occasionally carries an old Webley .380 2Z (.38 S&W caliber) police model (better bluing) with him. He practices speed reloads with it and is really pretty darned good with it. It's a strange revolver, being a quality break-top that is far too large for its caliber, and possessing a cross-bolt safety.

WAAAY back, before I got my Colt Trooper, I used to carry a Colt 1903 Army, in (get this)- .38 Long Colt!

Some bozo before me had removed the original sights, and replaced them with Micros. Yet another bozo dropped it once while I was showing it, and a spring broke inside, the result being that now she only fires SA.

Oh well, not like the ammo is plentiful, and better broken then than when I REALLY needed it.

I have corresponded with a couple who both carry .455 Webley break-top revolvers. Have seen Markarov, Tokarev TT33 but have not seen anything too weird (broomhandle Mausers, Velo-Dog revolvers, pepperox revolvers). Guess people able to procure non-standard ammo know enough to make better choice...

At one time I carried a .45 Colt New Service which was modified to be a Fitzgerald Special. It was a good weapon for close work, but the cutaway front of the trigger guard sometimes created panic on the firing lines of various ranges. I retired it and switched to a ore Model 27 Smith&Wesson 371/2 inch barreled N frame revolver. On some occasions I carried two of them and felt reasonably well armed.

Currently I carry a Makarov 9x18 when I work.

Many years ago I carried a permitted over and under 12 gauge with 5" barrels, single selective trigger and a short pistol grip. It was just over 12" long total... Snake country.

I also carried the Colt auto in .32

one of my favorites is the Walther TPH .22
