Anyone carry a concealed L-frame

Ok, I admit that I carry j-frame more often than not. But, when jacket or heavy shirt weather rolls around I often carry a 2 5/8' eight shot, N-frame. Anyone else like to carry a big iron? If so, what method of carry works best for you?

I'll occasionally carry my S&W 696 .44 special (3 inch barrel, 5 shot). Any pancake holster keeps it tight to the body and just about invisible with a cover shirt.

The majority of the time I carry a 4 inch K frame in an IWB holster. It's a little easier to conceal, a little bit lighter/thinner, and I like the option of having that one extra round... ;)

I carry the 696 occasionally too, in an Uncle Mikes IWB holster. Not so much in the summer though. Standard carry for now is an SP101 in the same type of holster.

malachi, which 8-shot L-frame do you carry?

When I am allowed to, I sometimes carry a 686+ with 2.5" barrel. It's easily concealed with shorts and a polo, even in summer. Currently, I have a Tucker Texas Heritage IWB for it.

Back in the day

About 30 years ago I moonlighted for about a year or so as a guard in the ER Room of a Hospital in the next town. They didn't want us to wear a uniform so we wore street clothes with a bright yellow windbreaker so the staff would know who we were. The only weapon I owned at the time was my S&W Mod 28 6".....Many a night I wore my Bianchi X-15 Shoulder Holster with the Mod 28 inside. The bottom of the holster stayed in place by sliding through my belt. The windbreaker never came off . The extra money came in handy during much simpler times. I still own the Mod 28 and the holster(but the holster doesn't fit around my big belly like it used to :D ) John

My usual – although not constant – concealed carry weapons are N Frame Smith revolvers: 610-3, 625-9, 627 (several types), and 27-2. I carry these in a high-rise, FBI cant, OWB holster at four to five o’clock. With a loose outer garment, concealment has never been a problem and I really like having the power, accuracy, durability, reliability, and quality of an N Frame loaded with top-rated 10mm, .45 Colt or .357 magnum JHPs.

big guns

I prefer to wear my KGP-141's weak-side behind-the-hip crossdraw (I'm ambi) or in a big fannypack.

I wear my Redhawks (even a 7.5" 357) in a strong-side Sparks HSR, under a big coat (trench, parka, etc.).
This is mostly just a stunt so I can say I do

...ANYONE CARR AN "L" FRAME

I CCW the following:
Glock 21 [Full size .45 ACP].
3 inch 657 ["N" frame .41 Magnum].
2 1/4 or 4 inch .357 Magnum.
Size doesn't matter wa long as you can conceal it...

This thread needs pics!

I've recently started packing a 2 3/4" 25-2. I like it, but I think I need a better belt/holster combo. A big honkin' sixgun is comforting I must say. :D Hey, how about some pics of everyone's N frame carry rig? My camera broke before I could take a picture of the holster, so I only have the Smith.

Here is the most comfortable holster I have found for the N-frame. And yes, I know it is a crappy picture. I just haven't had a chance to practice new techniques with this rig yet.

Holster is an Alessi Hideout, ordered for the 3.5". Revolver is a 5 screw pre-27.

This is making me rethink some things. Like WESHOOT2, I carry my 357 'hawk during the winter quite often. But my next down in the size dept I carry is my speed six, not a gp100.

I often carry an IWB rig with pull through straps toting my four inch model 681.
Sometimes, I carry a three inch .44 mag, too.

When I first started carrying, I toted a six inch 29 in a shoulder rig as my CCW piece.
