Anybody with a 24" AR Upper receiver, please help me!

Before I go off and buy an expensive hard case, I need to know if a 24" barrel upper receiver assembly will fit. I am thinking of getting a Pelican 1650 which has a maximum interior length of 29". Since I have nothing to measure from, (my upper has been backordered) I need somebody to grab a tape measure and see what the OAL is.

Sorry for the delayed reply, had to wait to get home for the measuring. On my 24" barrelled colt A3 elite the upper reciever assy measures 31 5/8 from the charging handle to the muzzle. The complete length of the rifle with the A2 stock is 42 1/4 inches. Hope this helps you out.

Ordered a Pelican 1700 today. Max inside dimension is 36". Should fit an AR with 16" upper and put the 24" assembly above it.
