Anybody use one of the Android endoscope cameras?

I've been seeing lots of adds for these little remote endoscope cameras with LED lights that hook to your Android phone. They are CHEAP (I'm talking less than $20 for some of them - but I doubt those really cheap ones are the highest quality). I'm thinking those might be a dandy poor man's bore scope.

Does anyone here use one?

I got a similar device some time ago,
It hooked to a computer
Very poor image, no way to adjust lens for a clearer picture
so blurry it was useless
I should have realized for that price you don't get much

I broke down and got a Lyman Borecam ( APR $200.00 )
It comes with its own monitor or you can hook it up to computer
for a larger picture
It does a very good job, image is crystal clear

I ordered 2 different brands and neither worked, not even 20.00 but the aggravation taught me once more, if it sounds like a cheap deal, probably is....

I have one that works better than I would have expected for something that inexpensive but don't use it much.

I have one that's a USB device to use with my laptop that works fine, but it's too big in diameter to fit anything much smaller than a .38 bore and its fixe focus is too far away for a good barrel inspection.

I did get a gadget with a child's microscope that works fairly well. It's just a plastic plate with a short tube whose ID is slightly over the OD of a typical eyepiece. The other side is an array of little suction cups. You stick your cell phone to the suction cups so the camera lens is centered in the tube, and you can then take photos through the microscope or, as it turned out, through my Hawkeye borescope. Pretty simple and effective and you could gin up such a thing for yourself out of wood and plastic. You might not have the suction cups, but those are just because they don't know what diameter phone is going on there. You know your phone and could make a pocket for it.

I have an endoscope I use for inside walls. It was $7 on Amazon, fits in anything over a .22 and is perfect for seeing a black hole. Focus is about four inches and only straight ahead.

If you need a bore scope ( most don't), buy a bore scope.

You'll not get anything better that an actual bore scope. They are expensive, as the manufacturers who make them are generally the same companies who make Cystoscopy scopes for medicine. They take a Cystoscope, and lengthen the tube on it.

I have two of them small enough to fit in a .22 caliber bore.

The 2" focal length is crap for gun work.

Interesting toy.
Worthless tool.
