Anybody use Chip McCormick mags?

Looking to get some 8 & 10 shot 1911 mags. I've noticed that the McCormick mags are priced pretty low. Any experience with these, positive or negative?

I've had good luck with the CM magazines in my Kimber and Springfield. I like Wilson's better, but they're also twice the price. :)

I've used McCormick, Wilson and Factory mags in my two Kimbers. All seem to work fine so far.

I prefer armed combat to unarmed combat. It's easier on the knuckles.

I have used 10 round CM magazines in various Colt 1911 s. So far so good/ A friend had some troubles with 8 round CMs in her 1980 series Colt. I use Wilson 8s for regular service and they work quite well/

My second best mags are Chip's, my first best are my old Randalls. In a little while you will be hearing from those that don't like 'em. The only way to know if they are for you is to test them at the range. If they don't work for you, sell 'em at a gun show.

I use McCormick 8 rounders in my 1911's and have never had a failure . I have used Wilson and Magpack in the past and have had failures with both of them , maybe the new Wilsons are better . Good luck , Mike...

I had some jams with Chip Mcormic Shooting star's...sold the mags. I hear Wilsons are a lot better and the price would indicate that... If you want to save money and get good mags..how bout Mec-Gar's? (or G.I. with the contract #!!!)

Every pistol is a bit different. I had problems with the Wilsons so I went to Shooting Star magazines. No problem with the 8 or ten rounders.

My shooting star mags work great in my SA 1911A1 loaded.

I use the 8 rnd blk stainless Shooting Stars in a Sprgfld full-sized 1911 and in a Colt 1991 Cmdr. 3 yrs now, no problems.

The McCormick followers fixed slide lock-back problems I was having with Mec Gar and Colt mags.

I carry McCormick 8 round Shooting Stars in my Colt Lightweight Commander, and in the offside pouch. I've used them also in my Colt govt models and never had a problem, with my reloads or factory "self defense" ammo.FWIW. J.B.

Depends on the gun. My colt likes them fine. My kimber likes the wilson's. All three like the Mec-gar. CM makes two levels of mags- the shooting star and the power mags.

My Norinco hated the Chip McCormick mags and they wouldn't feed in my gun. My Kimber likes them just fine. Both guns like the Wilson mags. Go figure. The other good mags (both guns like them) are the Metalform mags. They are priced like the McCormick mags.

I use Wilson and McCormick ten round mags in my Kimber Custom/Classic 1911A1-type .45 ACP. No problems with either. The McCormick is slightly more compact. I suspect the Wilson may be slightly better made.

Yes, I used two 10 rounder Chip McCormick Power 10 and two 8 rounder. Both kinds perform well on my M1991 A1 stainless.
