corbon .44 special 165 grain.

these do `1204 from my 4" mountain gun and 1365 from this model 24. They expand like nobody's business and recoil is negligible

Gorgeous case colors:)

The grips wouldn't work for me, but I don't think I've ever met an N frame I didn't like. How does it shoot, group-wise?:)

Ok Mike I confess, I just don't like the looks of them. Can't get use to the case colors on a double action S&W.

you're in good company. Taffin went off on them pretty heavy. The blue variation would 'nt require the extra care in handling and would probably be more practical but, this one ain't exactly designed with practicality in mind anyway.

Kind of like the Mona Lisa. She was an ugly beast but DaVinci liked her anyway.

I would like an all blued version but I'm just one voice in the hollow. Most guys on the street really like the case colors. Besides Taffin's in Boise.....HEE HEE

Not me Mike, I really don't like the barrel or tiny grips they put on that model. That one sure seems to shoot well for you though.

Maybe it will be better appreciated in 200 years like the Mona Lisa. :)

shooting it

I generally shoot small count groups and stop while I'm ahead. this time I went 25 rounds off-hand at 25 yards. I attribute the high, low and out to the side shots to the small grips and the centered ones to the nice hang of the 6.5" barrel.

Mike do you shoot any .35 cal. Contenders or rifles? I have some 210 gr. FP gas checked bullets that need tested.

I am completely bereft of any .35 cal. bangers of that sort. Bet they are very consistently rendered however.

in regard to the color case model 24s, I called Lew Horton and was told that about 300 were made with no present plans to issue any more. Apparently the 300 produced more than satisfied the demand that emerged.

This is a new bullet I'm working on but I have nothing to try it in. I always wanted a Contender in .35 Remington. I have a couple of 5 gallon buckets of this brass and now some bullets but nothing to shoot them in. I think however I've found a guy with rifle to do some testing.

Here's one that usually gets a better reception (excuse for another Mountain Gun Picture.]
