Anybody tried the EAA 1911 .22 conversion?

Have seen it in a couple of ads in SGN, but next to no info on it. Tried EAA's website, talk about a waste of time. So has anybody seen or tried one? Cheaper than the others (Ciener, Marvel, etc.) but if it is crap then I don't want to waste my time or money.

A buddy of mine has one for the .45 and loves it. Reliable, but you could almost buy another .22 for the $. Mike

Bergie. This won't answer your question directly, but it may help with your decision. I have the CZ75 in 9mm with the Kadet upper conversion in 22 cal. I believe this would be somewhat like the EAA unit. They are no target pistol, but shoot about as accurately as their centerfire units. I site my 22 unit in to impact at the same point of aim as my 9mm barrel. That way, I get lots of practice with the same trigger and site picture as my centerfire caliber. The unit cost me $205.00 but I figure that I will save that much in practice ammo this year alone. I do have an EAA Witness 45, and in my experience, their quailty is great. I would guess that the conversion units are just as well made.
