Hi,

I was just wondering.. does anyone make a .22lr/.22wmr combo? I know that there are single action revolvers out there (like a Ruger single-six convertable), but what about double actions?

I've been toying with the idea of getting a .22 revolver and it sounds neat to have the ability to switch (I notice, like today, at the stores that when .22lr is out, they always have the .22 mags).

I've only been able to find this one so far. It is a Charter Arms Pathfinder Combo.

Anything else out there?

I'm not really opposed to a single action, but would prefer a double if I can find the right one.(The single-six is still on the list).

Thanks

Way back when, SW made 22LR cylinders for their 651 22 mag revolvers. That would be very expensive to find now.

Of course, I didn't buy one when I had the chance.

Thanks for the link.

I'm going to go ahead and look into the Charter Arms. There is a LGS that is a dealer for them and I will see if they can order one for me.

It will have to wait till next month though. I just put in a bulk order for .38 special target ammo. The shipping is a hard pill to swallow, but the price per round was decent and I can't find any locally.. so... I will have to recoup some after that, lol. At least my carry revolver (sp101) will be fed for a while at the range.

The Pathfinders are backordered neck-deep. You'll have quite a wait time, if you have to order it. If it's really what you want, your best bet is to start searching for a shop that already has one in stock (or has some on backorder, already).

Taurus Tracker 992 Convertible - .22 LR / .22 WMR.
Blued or stainless, and 4" or 6.5" barrel options.

Thanks for the heads-up. I will keep my eye out for those as well. They certainly look nice!.

Taurus makes or made a DA .22 LR/Magnum revolver. Release the cylinder, then press a button on the side and you can remove the cylinder, ejector rod and crane as a unit. Pop the new one in.

.

And then pop out your wallet, to pay for multiple shipments, back to the Taurus Service Dept - BT, DT, NTS.

Look into older guns. Charter Arms made the original Pathfinder with both mag and LR cyls and I still have my first revolver, an H&R that came with both cyls. Those are just two examples but they're both great little guns.

unless it came as a kit, you cannot just swap cylinders without having timing issues. good companies will time your gun with an additional cylinder when you buy it from them... (you have to send them your gun).

H&R made one - but - it's a D/A in name only, unless you have the grip strength of a gorilla.
The D/A trigger pull on mine is well over 20 pounds.
