My boss ask me for some information on what appears to be an "real" black powder rifle. I know little of nothing about very old black powder weapons. Maybe someone here can help.

Looks like a cap fired rifle? The only markings that I can find are located on top of the barrel and appear to be the maker.

I understand that my information is limited (understatement), but I can probably post a photo if it would be of some help. Thought maybe someone might know if there was an old gunmaker by that name?

A picture would help. If it's not a conversion then it'll be a bit easier to date. The name is either that of the maker or importer but I couldn't find any reference to Bowley. Someone here will know though.
