Anybody heard of Tracking Point?

Was checking out one one of my computer tech sites today and came across a link for a video for something called Tracking Point. Sounds like a cool idea, not sure how practical it will end up being.

Thats the video with a brief demo of what it does.

Wow...

I kind of agree with gia... Seems to take a lot of the skill out of shooting. Not to mention the satisfaction of making the perfect shot.

That said, that is a pretty cool little toy. Can you imagine what the MSRP will be on that thing?!?!?

It would be useful for MIL and moving targets. That is, if it works on moving targets. If not, this tech is worthless except to people with more money than brains.

Or, if it could provide the shooting solution at 3500 yards on a static target. Even then i think you would already have to have your scope settings appropriate for that distance for it to work which in it of itself isn't easy at that distance.

This technology, depending on its capabilities, is potentially as worthless as I stated it was initially.

That would be no fun at all. You can't brag that your computer is a better shot than your buddy. Even if you prove it ten times. Might make our new soldiers better faster. But it won't make them better than we already have. No substitute for learning and practice.

I'm curious how wind conditions are compensated for in the fire solution, or if this POS only works under perfect conditions on a controlled demo range. No thank you--I'll work my own solutions.

Would rather have a burris eliminator if I was going to buy a holdover calculating laser scope. Burris makes good products, their design seems a bit lower profile, and i think it works out to the same range.

But there are so many more things that I would rather spend money on.
