I'm sending a gun off to him tomorrow or monday.
Prolly another when that one comes back.
I know he does good work and is reasonable, but I just wanted to know how he has done with TFL'ers.
I've searched, but I only saw 2 or 3 responses to this question in previous posts.

I sent him a SBH back in May. I don't have it back yet. It seems that his turnaround time has gone way up reacently though. Not really a problem for me, I'll be happy to wait (but even happier when it comes back ;) ).

I have three Reeder guns.
#1 Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter (older model)
#2 Ruger Super Single Six SS 6"
#3 Ruger Single Six .32H&R

All three are absolutely beautiful guns and very slick. Each is unique and done up personally for me.

Gary does very good work. Since the Single Action Shooting Society/Cowboy Action Shooting has grown at such an astonishing rate Gary has been overloaded with work. Last year when he built the .32H&R for me it took almost 8 months to do.

Good luck!

I had him re-chamber a .357 blackhawk to a 4 3/4 inch, 5 shot .50AE, quoted 6 months and $900 - result was 5 months and under budget !! And toword the end I was bugging the crap out of him (impatient cuss that I am). He has gotten alot of ink in the magiznes over the last couple of years - VERY well deserved !!!! Seems to be just as good as Bowen and Leinbaugh and a LOT less $. No slam on B or L, they started the boomer conversion trend and have the "name". Feel safe having Gary Reeder doing your work.

And yes, the 50 blackhawk KICKS with hot loads !!!!

I've known Gary for about 8 years know. I have a ton of his calibers in my contender and have had him do alot of other work. He is a really top knotch gunsmith. He will also really stand behind his work. I have never heard a bad story about his customer satisfaction.

He is also ranked 3rd in the world by the Safari club for hangun hunting.
