Anybody every thought about this...

Everyday roughly 6,500 hundred people die in the US. On the average about everythird day one person dies from a gun. Whether it be a school shooting, a breakin, some idiot cleaning a loaded rifle :) . Have you ever considered the fact that more people a year die from plane crashes. And about ten times as many that die in a plane die in a car.

I personally would like to see a study on haw many people cut themselves when cooking supper or doing dishes.

I personally would like to see how many die of falling off of a boat and drowning in a lake.

I personally would like to see how many people get hurt or die in rodeo accidents.

Then take all the numbers put them in a list and start at the highest injury or death ratio and work your way down. Then certain people would see all of us sitting around polishing the only thing we have left. Our guns. Mabye some big news company would run a story on this concept. Fat Chance :) But really, if the rational thinking is that guns kill people why start with the smallest killer. Why not start with the other 6,499.06 things a day and work backwards.

My thought for the day...

Where do you get your statistics? A person dies from a gun every THIRD day?!? That's about 122 gun deaths in a year. I think that's the gun death rate for Washington D.C. not the entire country.

I believe the number is much closer to 11,000. That's a little over 30 every day.

Here's a link to the DOJ web site. http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/guns.htm

Humblge: yes, your numbers are wrong. If you want numbers for accidents, check out the National Safety Council. More people die from falling down stairs, choking on food, car accidents (of course), drowning, even from shellfish poisoning than from gun accidents.
The sticky number is homicides. Yep, there are criminals out there and they shoot each other. That's what we have to get across.

One Big screw up!!! Guess at least I made every one go check the stats. :) I guess when you start with 2.37 million people die a year and calculate and mis numbers and eat supper and so -- on every once in a while the numbers just don't line up. so A x Y - Z/R + ... you get the point.

So let me change my numbers and keep my stance.

2.37 Million minus what ever thousand = a hole lot of people diein from other stuff besides guns.

Thanks helping us all stay on track ;)
