Anybody Else From Kentucky Renewed CCDW Yet??

I went down to the court house and renewed 2 weeks ago. I figured that a month before the expiration date would be sufficient time for the check and the printing of the new card. Now, I'm not so sure. I have read the posts from guys in other states who seem to have had to wait several weeks. So, has anyone else from Ky. renewed? How long did it take to get the new card? I'm in Louisville.

Well...it turns out that a month is plenty of time in Kentucky. I got the "Flash-Pac" today informing me that my renewed CCDW license was at the Sheriff's office so I went down and picked it up this afternoon. This one is good for five years instead of three.
There is a bill on the govenor's desk that makes the CCDW license a substitute for NICS. I hope he signs it into law.

WLM <> I'm From Ky and I just renewed mine in June. It's good for three years not five. Any idea why yours would be diferent?

It seems like the new five year period went into effect a few months ago. I have no idea why your card says three years instead of five. No offense but, are you sure? Pull it out and have a look. Maybe the law was changed after June, I'm not sure.

I just took a look at my wife's CCDW. Her license was issued on 3/27/00.
Her's expires in three years too. I guess the five year period just started with new renewals.

Here is a reply I received from KY state police on email when I questioned them in June about this: "The CCDW permits issued on and after July 15, 2000 will be valid for
5 years. Any permit that has been renewed from July 1999 to July 2000 will
be reissuing new permits good for 5 years, however these permits will be
issued as time permits. Do not look to receive a replacement permit
immediately. The oldest permits will be reissued first. I suggest you
monitor the State Police Web Page for further information."
