Went shooting with the Taurus .44 mag and the SIG 220 night before last. It had been awhile. I thumb-cocked the .44 a few times, but it seemed like those shots were actually less accurate than simply using the DA trigger. The SIG seemed about the same either way.
I theorize that I must be flinching or something, because the only advantage of the DA I can think of is that it provides more of a surprise break. Is there any other explanation? Is this mostly because I'm so new, so that it may go away with practice? I feel pretty good about my performance in general, at 7 yds I kept 47 of 50 shots with the .44 inside a 5-inch shoot n' see. Just surprised about the trigger because I expected to do better in SA.
