Anybody catch junkyard wars?

Why is it we can't do stuff like that here, and the robot wars? I have seen 3 episodes, and would love to have a chance to play. Build a tracter puller, a flying machine, and an artilery piece. Maybe only use techno geeks would watch it so they don't do it here.

Bedknobs at a hundred yards!

It's true, and a sad thing, that the kind of kookiness represented by the Junkyard episodes is more characteristically English than American. I guess that's why I like the Brit humor shows on PBS...that Limey quirkiness is charming.

Re: the cannon program, I remember an article in one of the gun rags sometime in the last couple of years. A guy did about the same thing...made a pretty neat looking black powder cannon out of a 'found' length of stainless pipe...about a two pounder as I recall, and with the blessings of the BATmen!

I like the gas cannons that shoot pumpkins, too...guess I'm just a sucker for the big-bores! :D

If they take our guns, I intend to let my hair grow long and acquire the jawbone of an ass.

Just watched the cannon and the cars that had to travel on land and then ford a pond.Found it interesting but I thought the military teams got too compicated on things.Cost them both tiles.
Overall fun to watch though.

Really enjoyed it...total hoot!

We ought to have an episode of our own in this country...called junkyard guns...contestants are put in a junkyard of gun parts laying all over the place...then told to assemble and be ready to fire in 10 hours, no gunsmith allowed, and they have to be members of the TFL. I'm ready to lock and load.

I enjoyed the show, however, it is a little too staged. It's obviously part scavenger hunt. Instead of starting with a plan, then finding the pieces to go with the plan, I'd prefer to see find what the find, and develop the plan from there. Would take a whole lot more creativity.

I thought it was just me. I noticed the first episode that it seemed the moderators knew what parts were out there, and what they should be finding. I wanted it to be a real junkyard too. I would have loved to have bolted up a 440 or something for the tractor pull.
