Anybody catch John Stossel last night?

ABC had an hour on longer show (came in halfway) titled "John Stossel on Washington" that was like a giant ad for Libertarian philosophy. He made some excellent points about basic freedoms and civil rights.

Gun/Political content - He also made Andrew Cuomo of HUD look like a complete ass (which isn't that hard to do; but is rarely done all the same). He nailed Cuomo on grandstanding with taxpayer dollars and complete incomptence in managing HUD.

saw it!

Yeah I saw it! Great program. Can you believe that one interview he had where the guy just cancelled the interview when he found out what it was about?!

I'm surprised a major network lets him on! :)

Great show. I let ABC know about it.

When I saw those public housing buildings being blown up, all I could think of was the phrase, "Your tax dollars at work". And, yeah, that bit about Cuomo was priceless - (headline) "Cuomo gives 10 million to . . ." (Stoessel)
"Ridiculous, it's not his money!" (or words to that effect - the implication was clear).

The bureaucrat who folded was Bruce Babbitt, Clinton's Secretary of the Dept Of Interior - a great exponent of locking up all the land to keep the Bluddy Peasants out.

I told ABC too.

I said Stossel should be doing more of this instead of following in all the other media's footsteps and giving the gummint a free pass. I said that too many people in this country get their daily bread from the TV and the reason they don't know about all the corruption and anti Constitutional goings on in Washington, is because nobody in the media will tell the truth or shine the light.
! WHEW !

So, yeah, I watched it. I read on the Stossel discussion board that many areas of the country delegated that particular show to the 02:00 am timeslot. Figures.

I just hope we see another, and another, and another. But I'm not holding my breathe.

Wasn't it John Stossel who was doing some interviews on professional wrestling and one of the wrestlers hit him and permanently damaged his hearing? Anybody know what happend as a result? Jerry

Stossel is what the media are supposed to be. We need more people like him on the air. That one show had more impact than all the ads the LP has ever run, IMO.

Stossel's kool. Even though mainstream journalists usually make me want to yak, I've always liked Stossel.

I was planning to watch it but spaced it. Where can I find a copy of it? The video on abc.com hangs up on me everytime.
