I don't carry the Jetfire C&L, either, because it's easy to thumb back the hammer on the draw.
It'd probably be safe to, though, due to the safety notch on the hammer. Even if the full cock notch suddenly sheared, the hammer should catch on the intercept notch if the trigger isn't pulled.
It may just be an ingrained prejudice against the tiny, fragile-looking innards of these pistols, and it may well be safer than I think it is.
