Anybody carry 1911 10 rnd mags?

Doing a search on TFL I am convinced that I will get wilson mags for my new Kimber Compact CDP without a doubt-but what round count, 7-8 or 10? Are the 10's to tall to carry comfortably, and does this add a weird feel to a compact kimber (or officers)???

TIA TFL'ers.

P.S. Found WIlson mags on Brownell site that I read about in a different post-cool site and looks like a good price, anybody like Brownell??

Use the McCormick 10 rds. Bought three new Wilson 10rds. to use in my Kimber & broke the followers on two of them. Wilson has great service - replaced both w/o question. Would suggest an 8 in the weapon and 10's as spares.

If they were to be carried (I stick with a pair of 8 rounders as spares) I would depend on them for reloads and hope like heck that the event was over before I needed to reload.

The McCormick Shooting Stars will fit flush with a full-size 1911, the mecgars stick out about an inch. Out of a compact gun, both would stick out and probably negate the ease of concealability of the compact 1911s. YMMV.

I used 7,8 & 10 feed mags. For Carry use, none is better than the 7 round mag. The 8 rounder is fine, but for concealed the 7 rounder is the best. The 10 feed mags is fine for carry if it serves as spare mags just in the mag pouch.

Thanks

I use my 10 shot Ed Brown mags for pin matches but I don't use them for carry. I do keep 2 or 3 in the glove copartment during long road trips for "just in case".
