Any users of the Galco Tuck-n-go?

Someone I know went to the States recently and kindly swung by a Cabelas to get me a holster as they are extortionate where I live.

He came back with two Galco Tuck-n-go's.

One is for my Glock 19, and the other for an Astra 680 snub similar in size to a S&W model 60.

Both are comfortable, but I must say I find reholstering very difficult to do well. Yes, they are more flexible than Kydex holsters, but I eventually had to remove the holster from its 4 o'clock position to fit the gun in and then refit the holster.

I know practice will come into it, but I am pretty dextrous and it was still fiddly to the point that I had to digitally guide the barrel into the holster and then shove the back of the gun quite firmly to get it to go in the holster.

I find that a little worrisome as pushing like that could result in the trigger catching something, despite trying to keep my finger out of, but over, the trigger guard area.
Fortunately in this case the law requires condition 3 carry of semis, but still... if ever I needed to draw and rack the gun in response to a threat, I would not be emptying the chamber before reholstering.

Can anyone relate to this issue and can anyone suggest techniques that might help?

James,

Since the holster is relatively new it's gonna a bit snug at first. Also, Leather IWB holster are not always he easiest to re-holster anyways. Just keep practicing and it will get easier.

I use one for the S&W 638 and a S&W 36. Very small lightweight holster. If you have one for a S&W J-frame I'm sure your Astra 680 is a little bigger(wider) since it's a six shooter. I'm not saying you can't get it to work it just might be a tight fit and try to work out. Just keep a close eye on it till you see how it works.

For the Glock I use the Desantis version which has a reinforced top and a adjustable cant.

My wife uses a Tuck-N-Go for her S&W 60 LadySmith. She adores the thing.

For a point of reference, she's tiny, not even five feet tall.

I use a Galco stow-n-go for an SP-101 snub. The stow-n-go is the same as your tuck-n-go except that it is not a tuckable holster.

I really like soft, non-molded IWB holsters. But honestly, re-holstering is not easy even when the holster is broken it. For me the best way to re-holster is to remove the holster from the belt, put the firearm into the holster, and then install the holster on the belt.

It is not a competion holster, it is a deep concealment holster that is very comfortable.

I have something similar for my EDC. The way I see it, if I ever need to draw my gun for defense, I'll have bigger problems than looking smooth putting it away.
For me having a holster that's comfortable to wear, and easy to get my gun out of is more important than something that's easy to re-holster, and the flexible leather IWB wins for me in that regard. You can always tuck it back into your back pocket in a pinch.
