Any use for Hodgdon Leverevolution?

Recently did some horse trading and now I'm the caretaker of an unopened 1 lb canister of Hodgdon Leverevolution. I do not own any guns chambered for the cartridges listed on the Hodgdon website. Did I just inherit more fertilizer?

"...a perfect excuse to..." Reason, not excuse. Geezuz!
Stuff you come by in trade that you don't want is still tradin' goods. And an unopened 1 lb. can of powder isn't going to go bad if you store it right.

The Leverevolution powder available to reloaders has very limited applications. Yep, either you need to get another gun/caliber, you have more trade bait or fertilizer for the flower bed.

It seems to me that Leverevolution is a ball/spherical propellant that is optimized for 30-30 Winchester and similar cartridges, and that it is otherwise VERY similar to W-748 and BL-C(2). It would work well in the same applications. But the portentious ramifications of this situation appear to indicate that a 30-30 is out there somewhere waiting for fate to put you together. Don't resist it; facilitate it.;)

I have a Savage 340A 30-30 bolt gun that is just plain fun to shoot with some 130 and 150g SP's, that Leverevolution would work in it. I think I paid $175 for that rifle local and it shoots amazingly accurate. Sub MOA at 100yrds and I have hit the 18" gong many times at 300yrds w/Williams FPTK sights

Something to think about if a lever gun isn't your thing

Amen to that and to the idea of 30-30 bolt actions. In addition to the savage 340 you could find a Winchester Model 54, Remington 788, or Savage Super Sporter (Mod 40/45). They will show just how accurate the 30-30 is. Leverevolution is a fine product and also works in the 32 Winchester Special and 308 Marlin Express, to name a couple deer killers in the list of cartridges that Hornady uses it in. It also works just fine in the 300 Savage, although Hodgdon does not recommend it or offer data for it.
