Does anyone make/sell beautiful exotic wood grips for the Hi Power that are NOT significantly less wide than those that came on my Standard model?
A big deal is usually made about the thinness of the Spegel and Ahrends grips. But with my short fingers I reach the trigger of the Hi Power very easily. I put Ahrends grips on it (they are gorgeous and I'm sure worth the pennies) and it seems like a lot more work to get a good grip on the gun now. Much less room for the support hand. In addition, my support thumb tends to get chewed on by the small pin above the trigger.
If I were to lapse into cynicism, I'd think that these guys are just trying to use as little of the expensive exotic wood as possible, and making it sound like a smaller grip size on a Hi Power is a "feature".
Any leads? Maybe I'll call Ahrends and Spegel and ask for more wood. . . .
Many thanks,
