Any suggestions for good riflescopes?

I'm looking for a good riflescope with tactical turrets not like the old type where you have to take covers off and blindly adjust the dope. Maybe low-mid price scope preferably.

.30-06, not anything that's only for one particular bullet weight, farthest range for hunting about 500-600 yards/meters. maybe something like 3-10x or somethin.

Weaver Tactical Grand Slam at MidwayUSA.

Or the Nikon p-223 or m-223, Leupold Mark AR, Weaver Tactical, Vortex PST.

What do you consider to be mid-low price point?

I just got my Weaver Tactical 3X15X50 EMDR from Glenn's Outdoors for $680.00 shipped. I haven't mounted it yet, gun is still at the Smith's getting the barrel cut down. Just looking through it at various light levels, I am impressed with the optics so far. I like the illuminated reticle and the choice of red/green color. Turrets are OK, not Nightforce or comparable lines but I didn't pay $1500.00 for it either. Well made optic, you could take it off and use it for a hammer if the need arose.

farthest range for hunting about 500-600 yards/meters

Time of flight makes hunting with a 30-06 (and most other calibers, as well) at 500+ yards an iffy, and therefore unethical, proposition. You are looking at t.o.f. in excess of .5 sec past 500 ...... an animal can move much further than the the size of the kill zone in that amount of time, just by taking a step.....

Not intending to be rude, but a scope that costs about the same as an afternoon's worth of commercial ammo will have unreliable turret adjustments and will not likely allow you the precision required to hunt at ranges requiring a scope, much less 1/3 of a mile.

If you can double your budget and halve your range, you'll be closer to realistic expectations.

I know some good BSA scopes for that price range with finger adjustable turrets. And some others, juss wanting some other ppls opinions.

Around $150 plus shipping when Midway has them on sale, But the BSA tactical 6-24x44 may be what you want. This particular BSA scope is exclusive to Midway and they often have it for the price I mentioned. Decent scope, lots of good reviews on it and I own one. I've no complaints about it.

Other than the BSA I mentioned above, only thing I can think of in your $60-100 price range is a TruGlow scope sold by www.natchezss.com Has turret feature you want. Own a couple of the 6-24x44 truglow and have them on a pair of very so-so rifles that do not shoot worth a hoot. So-so optics on my TruGlows, as are the windage/elevation turret adjustments. 2nd one I got failed to adjust on it windage when zeroing it....returned it to Natchez for another. 2nd one has worked OK.

Oh, forgot. Natchez also has a BSA Platinum model in your price range with type of turrets you want. Most places sell the Platinum higher power scopes for $110-125. Natchez has them for around $75. Be aware, Natchez will charge you around $15 for shipping. Anyway, have 3 of the Platinums on mid recoiling centerfire rifles that I shoot on a fairly regular basis at range. Decent optics on them. Turret adjustments on two of them is good. Third one has rather mushy feel to turrets, but does adjust OK enough for my needs. Showed one of my Platinums to a fellow shooter recently. He will order one to put on the 22-250 Remington he uses in our monthly target shooting competition at range we are members. Last Sunday, he won our monthly target shoot with the Platinum mounted. Its worth at look at.

Stay away from the BSA Sweet scopes. My cousin bought the Sweet 223. The little tiny screws keep backing out of the turrets. They have bullet compensated turrets for different bullets weights. You zero it, shoot it, screws fall out, then you start all over again. Junk You could do better then BSA. Their red dots are ok but the riflescopes are pretty bad IMO
