All my Ruger #1's & #3's have shot well too! IIRC, a bit of research turned up that when Ruger first starting making the No.1, Wilson supplied the barrels. Some of these early rifles were very if'y in the accuracy department. Later Ruger either got a new supplier or started making there own barrels & quality/accuracy took a jump.clark said:I wanted to rebarrel a Ruger #1, but I have bought (4) of them looking for one that does not shoot well.
For factory barrels, #1s shoot great.
