What kind of accuracy have you seen with this rifle?

There was a guy at the range the other day that had just bought one and installed a scope on it. He was zeroing in the scope and shot a final group after zeroing that appeared to be one .308 cal hole. It was four shots into that one hole. The walk-in zeroing groups didn't look to be over 1/2".

Is this accuracy common to the 700LTR or did he just get a good one? If you own an LTR please share your best and average group size.

R6: I bought an LTR with the 20" heavy fluted stainless bbl, and it will keep 1/2" groups at 100 yds with Federal Gold Medal 168s. It has an Iron Brigade Armory one piece scope mount and a leupold tactical Vari X II 3x9 40mm. I would get something BDL instead of DM next time.

Well, I picked up a 700 LTR today for a deal and it is a BDL. Both the LTR's they had in stock were BDL's.

This thing has an awesome trigger out of the box!! ZERO creep and a super clean break!! :D Can't wait to get a scope on this bad boy and send some chunks down range. :)

I'll hate my credit card statement next month but I believe I'm gonna love this rifle. :D

Hey Zensho,

Why would you get a BDL instead of a detachable mag next time?

Thanks,

Olazul

Zensho,

Where did you get the IBA one piece base? Whose rings did you use?

Olazul: I would prefer a BDL for reliability reasons. The Detachable mag version that I have is OK, but reports from the field are in favor of BDL. Theres a bunch of us DM owners that would pay good money for a mag that would feed more reliably.
R6: www.ironbrigadearmory.com is Norm Chandlers website I think, You can buy direct. The one piece mount has the rings brazed in place and line bored, Zero does not move on this thing. It was around $210 when I bought mine, and worth it.
I agree about the trigger, nicest out of box break I ever felt. Happy shooting!
