i was luky enough to shoot this lynx last night. shot it at 30 yards with 12g. T shot, in flashlight. have you ever shot one? i feel very blessed to take such a pretty animal. feel free to post pics of your preditor kills!

Man that is beautiful! Are you going to have it preserved by a taxidermist? Or just skin it out?
I would try to skin it and keep the head fur intact (Ears, lips and eyes) and then see if I could get a taxidermist form head for it.

Cool. I don't think I know anyone that's shot one before. I almost hit one with a truck once....or rather it almost hit me.

One of my buds up in the interior pulled 22 off his trapline last year.

My last predator was a small wolf this past spring.

nice. ya i no a few guys that trap them a bunch but i wanted to shoot one! congrats on your wolf. it is me as well my 13 yr old sisters dream to shoot a wolf. right no alaska realy needs to kill a bunch of wolves!

It's a good lookin' cat, for sure.

Congrat's!

I've never seen a lynx. There's none in the country around here, and I've never been lucky enough to come across one when I was in other parts.

Just bobcats here, but we have plenty of those.

feel free to post pics of your preditor kills!

Ok, here's a few of our desert bobcats I've taken.

Thanks. He was kinda ratty because he'd been wounded by someone else. When I was skinning him I found shot pellets in is ass, a shoulder wound that I later found out was from a .17 HMR and about 8" of his tail was missing. Wasn't worth anything as a saleable pelt so his final resting place will be the back of my couch when I get him tanned.

Don't worry, we're doing our best to thin them out here. We've had three caribou seasons out here on the AKPEN shut down now because of them.

Skull,
What is that thing? Looks like an ordinary dog I see around here once in awhile. Maybe I can convince the neighborhood tree hugger it is a dangerous critter... :)

If it is a dingo, are they as bad as the coyotes and foxes we have? I think our predators are nice looking, especially tanned, stuffed and placed in an area where you can keep an eye on them.

Seriously, I do love these animals, but they take a toll on the livestock and I am not rich enough to feed these critters.

Also, what is that cord hanging from your rifle scope? Laser range finder?

G'day.

It's a Dingo. The property I was on paid a bounty of one cold beer for dead one.
They can become very bold when around people. They tend to scavenge and look for vulnerable prey whenever they can.

another pic of the same one.

The cord has a small pressure bad switch that is supposed to be Velcro-ed to the fore-grip. It turns on a 'Red Dot Laser' and is excellent in poor light conditions. I have just received a 'Green Dot Laser' and it is way more visible in brighter conditions. They can also be set to gauge distance.

Whoa, before I saw your location I though it was a dog. Is the Dingo kind of like a wild dog - similar to a Coyote? Never seen one before. Nice shot by the way!

G'day. On the evening news today was an article about how 2 popular camping sites at "Fraser Island" have been closed due to the danger from Dingos.

By the way nice hole.
130 gr PSP .277 @ about 2900 f/s. I had to take the shot off hand in the prone position while he was moving about 80 meters away.

yellow dogs

there is a breed of dog that run feral through central USA states.
They look very similar to dingos.
It seems natural selection favors that size and color of dog.

I was thinking about a full body but it was 1300 and a rug was only 600 and I think it will look great next to my bear rug in my room
