Any opinions on the new T/C .22 rifle?

I've been admiring the advertisements for the new Thompson/Center .22LR semiauto rifle. It appears as though it incorporates some nice features like having the barrel threaded to the receiver. I was just curious if any feedback has made it to the forum yet.

C'mon now, guys. If the thread on the proper pronunciation of "Lapua" can garner 17 replies, certainly this rates at least one. :) Anybody, Bueller, anybody?

I have seen several reviews on the new .22 from T/C. All of them have been very good. I decided to stop out to the local gunshop to check them out. Now mind you my opinion is only from handling the gun and not firing it. SO I can not comment on its performance or accuracy.

The fit and finish were very nice. The gun pulled up well when aiming the rifle. I'm 6'-2" so I have a long reach. Although the gun is a carbine style it still felt comfortable to me with my long reach. The barrel is what I believe they call a hammered finish. This looked very nice with T/c's blueing.

There were two versions of the gun. Both blued but one had engraving on the receiver. The engraved version ran $389 and the standard version ran $300. I'm not saying the gun isn't worth the money. I know T/c makes a quality weapon and I'm sure that this one is no different. What I am saying is that I walked away deciding not to spend $300 or $385 on what is basically a semi automatic plinker.

That's my 2 cents worth. For what it's worth.
