Any Mr. Smith goes to Washington politicians?

Are there any politicians out there past or present who genuinely did their job as a representative and for politics? It's always great to hear 10 year olds say they want to get into politics to make the world a better place :rolleyes: good luck to that
 
I guess Ron Paul (R, l) TX is the only name that comes to mind. He has rejected a congressional pension, has handed back at least 60K unused dollars from his office budget each year, and he has always stood for exactly what the constitution says.

Davy Crockett was also pretty good as best as I can tell.
