Any interest in a shootout...?

Between a CS45, Star Ultrastar, Star Firestar, and a PMR-30?

Or should it remain between concealable Centerfire pistols??

Nawp, who's he? Star collector?

Anyway, just bought a Star M43 Firestar, waiting on an Ultrastar, and already have the other two...
My thought was, the two stars and the S&W are all from the late 80's/early 90's...
fun time for concealable metal pistols, so why not shoot & see which does the best??

Going to be a fun range day as soon as the Ultrastar arrives :D
I'll try to be Pic-Heavy, maybe a movie or three...

I conducted a shootout among my four compact carry pistols one day at the range. I fired four 5-shot groups from each gun. I was surprised to find there was no statistically discernible difference in precision among the four, despite calibers ranging from .32 Auto to 9 Luger, but a sample size of four groups per gun is small, making it harder to see differences.

If you include all your handguns in such a shootout I'd bet on the PMR-30.

If I included all my handguns I'd be there for a week ;)
So its just the four most recent acquisitions!!

The CS45 seems to be shooting left, not sure if I need to adjust me or the sights yet...
so it needs some range time to figure that out...bought it around 6-7 months ago.

The Star M205 & M43 are new acquisitions, waiting on the Ultra to be shipped in...
was actually looking for a Star 30M/P when I found 'em...

Picked up the Keltec PMR-30 on my birthday for $400 at a LGS.
Made for a Very Happy Birthday indeed!!

You can conduct a prolonged shootout among all your carry guns if you do it in four-gun heats. Think of the excitement by the time you conduct the quarter finals.

I suggest limiting your shootout metric to precision. After all, accuracy can be dealt with by adjusting or replacing sights. When I conducted my four-gun shootout all 80 shots fell within 3 inches of the point of aim (at 5 yards), which is good enough for the NRA Marksman rating.

I predicted your PMR-30 would be the winner amongst the four you specified. I'll predict your CS45 will be the least precise.

Range Report

Well, ended up taking 3 to the range,
the PMR-30 for giggles & grins first time shoot...
and the Star M43 Firestar 9mm & M205 Ultrastar .40-Short & Wimpy.

First up was the PMR-30, shot a box of 50 Grey Box Winchesters.
It performed as expected, I'll need to do a shootout vs a Grendel P-30 soon...

Now to the fun part...M43 on left, M205 on right.

They are actually pretty close in size...

I expected the metal 9mm to handle the recoil better & be more accurate,
being steel & a smaller caliber.
However, that proved completely wrong.
The Ultrastar M205 felt like it was firing 9mm!! Soaked up recoil nicely!!
And, better trigger...and, was more precise in slow-fire and rapid-fire.

Its actually got me thinking that I need to find a M205 in 9mm,
just so I can compare apples to apples...
