I know, I know...but a friend of mine has an oppertunity to trade a S&W 5903 w/hi caps for one of these things. I really don't know much about them, but the guy is willing to give some $ to boot when they trade. Any info I can pass on to my bud about this thing? It's chrome/stainless? w/14 shot mag-I think.

thanks!

NO, no, no and no. Your buddy has a reliable, accurate and well made pistol in the SW. Why on earth would he want to trade it for junk? Look at this way, all things being equal, if you owned a Toyota Corolla would you trade it for a Yugo?

So many pistols, so little money.

Hi, folks,

I agree. I have had a chance to take down a Llama .45. A friend wanted advice on working it over for trigger pull, accuracy job, etc. I had to tell him any work would be a waste of money. The parts are soft and badly fitted, with lots of hand filing. The barrel is fitted so badly the gun shoots 8 inch groups at 25 yards from a rest. The trigger pull is atrocious, creepy and long.

The gun would probably work for a while. He had fired a couple of hundred rounds with no problems, but it simply is not a quality gun.

Trading a Corolla for a Yugo? More like a Lexus for a Renault Dauphine with a blown head.

I owned one for two weeks. As soon as I found a way to get rid of it, I did. I then bought another Para. Best move I've made since I bought my last Para.

Hey Big Al - Would your friend happen to be looking at that pistol in Santa Barbara? If so, then I was in the shop looking at a Glock at the same time he was there with his S&W for trade. If not, then what a coincidence!!

I owned a IXD. I did get rid of it.
However, I was able to perform a decent trigger-job on it.

I would keep the Smith.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!! Had one for about month. I was probably more accurate throwing it at the target! As much as I dislike Smiths, keep it.
