have you ever just felt like some room in your house would be better with a pistol in it? maybe its just me......:D:D

im thinking of mounting some sort of holster/holster-like-device to secure one of my pistols to the underside of a table. so far, the idea is to mount an uncle mikes under there, but i just feel like there's gotta be a better way...... any ideas???

or....... any examples of how you mounted a holster or other device in, on, or around an article of furniture?

i have a really hard believing that im the only person who has ever faced this dilemma. so i figured i could get some good input the ole forum.

Mounting to a seat in the car.

Very similarly...
I have been working on a way to conceal a semi-auto under the seat of a car.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions (or past experiences).

My goal is to have it completely concealed under the seat (i.e. inconspicuous storage) as actually mounting to the seat (so that it doesn't come flying forward in a quick stop or if I get hit.)

This is mostly a fabrication project, nothing expensive...just useful on a dime.

Any ideas for mounting to furniture would be helpful.

p.s. Props on the magnet idea.

Works for me.

Uncle Mikes paddle holster under counter. They work well on the back of a door under a coat rack too.

Get you an old wide leather belt, cut a section out of it long enough to put a screw with a wide washer on it on both sides of it- and you can mount any holster-on any wood furniture-at any angle- anywhere you want.

what i usually do is wedge the gun and cheap uncle mikes iwb in between the cushion and end of the couch. the pressure from the cushion holds the holster during a draw and its usually out of the way and invisible even when my gf is on the couch watching a movie.

I've seen ads for several types of furniture/auto-mounted holsters. Do a Google and you'll come up with several.

Just watch out where you place your wallet when you put it on top of that table! Next time you go to the gas station, you will not have to wonder why none of your credit cards work.

It is also possible to have some magnetism transferred, even if only temporarily, to your handguns metallic parts. Again, watch out where you put your wallet!

As far as under the seat of a car - I'd say a 2" wide strip of "hook"-side Velcro attached to the holster with the holster placed on the carpet would probably do it - as long as the holster either retains well or has a retention strap.

Just last night on Shooting USA show they featured a neat under the livingroom table mounting system. Maybe you can look at their online production of the show and see it? or email them.

A very clever concept! thanx for making me think. How about, say,in your living room you have a recliner or an easy chair, and the back of it faces a wall, but not right up agianst the wall. Stitch a holster to the back of the chair, right behind were your head rests, so you can put a gun in it, so just by leaning back in the chair, and putting your hands behind your head and looking like your relaxing, a gun would be in easy reach right behind you.

No need for a holster on solid furniture that doesn't move. I have several handgun-sized wooden shelves and plastic boxes attached with screws, as well as two wire hangers for long guns.

There used to be a company that manufactured a barrel rod made from some high-density polymer. The rod was sized for caliber and length and could be mounted places like under a desk.

I don't remember why this was supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread but it is something to think about.
