Any hunters/shooters from the UK!?

Hi,
I'm considering moving to England in the near future (I currently live in New Zealand), and am wondering if there are any members from the UK who can shed some light on hunting in the UK?

I'm into deer stalking/varmint shooting and target shooting at the moment and am just wondering what opportunities there are in the UK?

The main thing I enjoy is varmint shooting (rabbits, crows, magpies), is it hard to get places to shoot small varmints in the UK?

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Had a good friend stationed over in England back in the 90s (USAF), who told me shooting was, in his opinion and limited experience, relegated to the wealthier gentry set for the most part. Lots of rules and regulations, a little shotgun shooting, a few .22s, handguns are... well, for the most part frowned upon, you need a friendly land owner because hunting is... well, I gather the majority of people he met while there just looked down upon him for asking. (Friend did help dig up and help restore a B-17 while there, so that's kinda cool, but off topic unless hunting for old downed aircraft counts?)

Will await hearing from those who live it day to day.
