Any help on a SR40c barrel?

I have seen (long ago, and "Internet hearsay, YMMV") accounts of folks somehow lacking a barrel, and Ruger refusing to sell them one.

But, yeah, his first step should be to call Ruger and ask.

IMO
Ruger's striker fired guns haven't been around for 30 years. I don't think they are an LEO issued gun, at least not in the volume that Glock and S&W are.
There are trigger kits out there, and sights. No aftermarket barrels that I have heard of, I think the after market barrels for Glock grew out of owners wanting to shoot lead reloads out of a Glock.

One of the drawbacks with Rugers is a weak after market, as compared to some other makes.
Anyone know why?

I know I'm oversimplifying (and will, I'm sure offend some readers), but:

I'd argue that Ruger semi-autos are the PICKUPS, JEEPS or ECONOBOXes of the handgun world. The folks who buy them aren't out to do gun games, or bullseye, or any of the things that typically cause gun owners to go the aftermarket route. There's just little or no demand for things that aftermarket vendors sell.

To quote some friends from NYC, "they are what they are," and folks tend to just accept that fact and are satified with what they are.

Ruger revolvers are a little different, and you will find some aftermarket support for them.

no, they don't sell just parts. don't know why but most manufacturers wont sell barrels. however, I'm sure if you sent it in they would replace the barrel. why do you need a spare?

Walt....you haven't been Jeepin' long have you. It's the most modded vehicle of all. No one, not even girls leave a jeep stock.

I would say ruger is the Honda civic of the gun world. It's where people go when they want something that will work without busting the bank. Ruger folk typically aren't in a gun clique with friends to impress.

Ooops. Should have said the original JEEPS of WWII to make that point -- not those expensive, modern creations that go by the same name.

My son does some off-roading, and has one of the top-of-the-line a 4Runners with a lot of the add-on gear, plus nearly all of the factory gear for off-road adventures. (From the factory it was pretty impressive and comfortable, too.) Then he changed suspension, added heavy-duty plates underneath, other gear (doing things I don't understand), etc. I know they do that with Jeeps, too.

He takes a lot of videos when he plays and shares them with the family.... In them you see a lot of very expensive Jeeps, and and other costly vehicles, including some VERY expensive Range Rovers and Land Rovers, and Mercedes (and maybe some AUDIs?), as well as other very specialized 4-wheel drive vehicles wearing expensive gear that makes them more pricey than some Porsche and Ferrari models.

I don't need a $200,000 vehicle to get stuck on a bad spot... I can do that with my Toyota or my wife's Lexus SUV...;)

I responded to your other thread a couple days ago in which the same question was asked. Please read it.

tahu, i need a spare because my original is gone, idk where, irresponsibility mostly

and i read the response for the ebay listing and it has ended but i contacted the seller and he is going to list as a buy it now for me here in a few days, 200 is the asking price which seems steep when all i need is a barrel
