Any good suggestions for a good 10/22 scope mount and rings?

Since the PRK won't let me get a new AR, I decided to build a 10/22 target rifle. The barrel and stock are on their way and when my wait is over, the new receiver (anyone wanting to buy a stock barrel and stock?) will get here in a couple weeks. I need a good scope mount for the rifle. Any good suggestions. I have seen a single piece mount rings out there, but have not been able to find it again. Please help!

Thanks.

I figured it out.

I just ordered a Power Custom scope base for 12.95 from http://www.ontargetguns.com. A good 10/22 sight for you 10/22er's out there. I also got the Volquartsen trigger guard 2000 along with it. I am spending quite a bit on a 10/22 package. Do you all think I am nuts or is this little plinker going to be the smoothest thing since sliced bread?

As far as a scope goes, you may want to look at the 6X40. I currently have the .910 barrel and a 4X32 scope and the scope is not quite enough. My uncle has the 6X40 and the difference is night and day. My 10/22 will hold a 1/2" to 1/4" group at 30yds. You can get a nice 6X40 for about $50 or so. It will be well worth it.

I am thinking about a varial.

I will probably pick up a cheap 3-9x40 and try to get it as compact as possible.

I have a Swift 3x9 on my 1022T, with Weaver base and rings. Don't remember if it is a 40 mm or 42 mm objective.
Works great, even with the fixed parallex at 200 yds.

5 shot groups at 50 yds are around 0.5", best was 0.42 IIRC, all with CCI Minimag HP's. YMMV

sounds like a great project. good luck with it.

Triggerguard 2000

Stupid name, but I wouldn't sell mine for twice what I paid for it. My gun dealer measured the pull at less than 2 lbs. and I didn't even buy it from him! You also have a stock trigger group you can sell now.

Regards.

It is all going on ebay!

When I finally get my stuff, I am going to sell the stock, barrel, and trigger group off. Plus I will probably sell my other 10/22. It is just sickening though that I wanted an AR-15 16" but the PRK wouldn't let me buy one. So I have to buy a target 10/22 to compensate. Damn communists.

I should have ordered a CMP rifle instead. Oh well, that is next on the list.

You're NOT Crazy

I got a 10/22 in the early '80s, and fired it lik a deranged man for several years.

After I grew up, it sat around and collected dust.

Recently I began pricing the mods you've mentioned, ALL OF THEM.

Cost is the only thing holding me back, I think I'll piecmeal it.

BTW, CMP would be CHEAPER, by a good measure.

The nice thing about being single!

I can blow $600 on a 10/22 because I am single and a college graduate. So to all of you youngins out there, stay single and get an education. Then you too can blow money on guns when you want.

Now I just might blow some more money on an M1 while I still can.
