*Any good gun deals for those low on cash?*

I'll say it before 50 other people do. You aren't too specific about what you are looking for, but I'd recommend a CZ-75. They can still be had for a little over $300.

If they don't appeal to you, get a Ruger.

If you don't have much money, save what you have until you have more. Don't go cheap, it will only cost you more in the end.

The best deals right now are police trade ins on S&W revolvers and auto pistols. Next come the Makarovs, the PA-63's and others. In used guns, the story is in your dealer's showcase. There are often good buys there.

If you want a gun as a gun, and not a prize to look at, there are always reblued guns or guns with bad finish, lots of holster wear, rust, etc. If you know what you are looking at, you can often get very good bargains on those guns. (I have in mind an S&W M&P revolver a friend bought last month for $65 that looks like it was left on the battlefield and then dragged through barbed wire, but which has a good bore and is perfectly functional. He has no intention of trying to fix it up, but will use it as is.)

Another suggestion for about half the price of a CZ. The Makarov in 9X18.
Reliable, ammunition pleantiful and if you buy the Mak you'll have enough cash left over to buy a case of ammo.

When you say "low on cash", what range are you looking to be in when you make your purchase?

A little more info, and you'll get a LOT of great advice (over and above what's already been handed out).

Yup...you better define a little cash...to some folks that's a $100.00 Mak...to others it's a $489.00 Glock Model 17...
others think of a $79.00 CZ-50.
Lots of different folks with lots of different incomes and
disposable dollars.

My vote would be for the HS2000 for the best budget pistol. $300 at a local shop here in Southern Cal...but I hear they're available elsewhere for less than that.

I'll have to second the HS 2000...great shooter for the money...also...Ruger is having some pretty sweet deals right now...I own a P94 .40 that is the most accurate weapon I own...although I hear I may have just got lucky with the great accuracy...anyway...enjoy your search:D

I second Rugrer. I have never owned a Ruger before but I just bought a stainless P97 for a whopping $323.45 out the door after the rebate. I am thinking of getting a P95 and another Mrk II due to the good prices.

The best cheap guns are Ruger's P series. You can get a P95 for about 250 bucks through a person with an ffl. Police trade in guns are great. Stay away from russian junk like the maks.

Since this is the semi-auto forum would recommend the CZ line or Ruger. Have seen used Ruger P95 for just over $200. Makarovs are very popular, & reasonably priced. Have not shot one but have heard only good things. Have seen used FEG BHP clones in the $200 range as well. No experience with them but several members have them and are pleased.
Low cost in the used market does not necessarily mean junk.

IMHO the best gun deal out there is the brand new Taurus PT-145. .45ACP punch in a G26 size package for about $400!!!!

FEG Hi-Power.. best deal on the market for a full sized handgun. Takes all Browning mags, and they are easy to find.

On a side note, that makarov has quite a bite for its size but they are reasonably well made. East german guns are the best.

Police trades can be a good thing, provided you know what you are getting into. A S&W model 10 is a fine weapon.

CZ is another great maker for those on a budget and there are tons of hi cap 9mm mags available.. not so true for the 40 cal CZ.

Rugers are big, ugly and stone reliable, again lots of magazines are available.

Hsarms has been around for a couple of years to my knowledge...I own one and up to this point it's basically a single shot weapon...have had LOTS of problems with FTE'S...but when the gun did cycle with CCI blazer...that gun shot great! i'm in the process of getting the extractor replaced...but there's alot of guys out there who got the HS and have not had one problem...it's worth it to me to take the time to replace the extractor because other than that...it's a solid firearm for the money...having said all that...Ruger is the BEST deal for the money!
Tony.

Mil-Surp CZ75B 9mm with a 10 and 15rd mag has to be THE best bang for your buck. At ~$330 locally, you'd be hard pressed to find a more reliable, rugged and accurate pistol at that price or higher for that matter.
