Any experience with .400 Cor-Bon

Any one done this. Do you just drop in a different barrel? Does it damage your gun? Just curious.

A Kimber in one hand and a Glock in the other. All of the bad guys are looking for cover!

Haven't done it but from what I understand (in 1911 style guns anyway) the barrel is drop in. Some say you need to beef up the recoil spring (from 16lbs.) to 18 or 20 lbs. depending on the gun, some others say no need. BTW, initially I had an interest in changing my .45 over to .400 Corbon, but can't really come up with a good reason now. I'd probably rather go with a 10mm. That way I'd have another caliber AND another gun.

THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT JOB

I have fired thousands of my .400 Cor-Bon reloads through my G21 and 70 Series Gold Cup. I do use heavier springs and threaded barrels with compensators. I've just about stopped shooting .45's. If you have more questions, feel free to e-mail me at wig2@surfsouth.com

Fit a Clark 400 CB to my 1911, installed a heavier recoil spring, made up some loads (pulled the powder and charge weight out of my *ss), and proceeded to lose brass indoors!

Extremely accurate (stiff barrel, I think) but mostly a novelty cartridge. Bad medicine with a 135gJHP, though.

Oh, WalterGAII is the 400 expert online; seems he's got the right experience.
