I'd eventually like to get a mild action job on it, but except for my rare, "gunshow-find-for-$15" Farrant grips that puts my gun in the "one-of-a-kind" category, and give it a unique look, it is otherwise stock. Group is @25 yards over the bench two handed.
The one on the left has a custom sight, stainless steel to match the handgun. It also has custom grips. They started out original and I took the checkering off and reshaped them to make them narrower. It's and GS83-NYCPD Speed Six with a 3" barrel, .38 SPL. It started out with a factory bobbed hammer and I swapped in a standard hammer. The one in the middle is a Service Six with round butt, done by the factory. The one on the right is a 1978 blued Security Six, that has been hard chromed. All of them have hammer bushings, lightened springs and polished internals.
I have a SS Security Six that was customized in the mid 80's I think. The hammer strut was removed as well as the single action step so its DAO and has a three inch SS barrel of a slightly different color metal marked "Rattler" custom. Can't figure out how to get a picture on line....
Well, No one's got one that looks like mine!
Love or hate it, it is unique!
Modified custom bisley trigger, trigger lightened, custom steer grips cut to round butt and lanyard hole in frame. Pre warning to boot.
Now my SS is sporting a NEW set of OLD original grips I bought from Ruger this week. Supposedly these were found in an old warehouse somewhere and now on sale for $10.00. There wood and feel great IMHO
