Any Comments On "Tetra Gun" Products?

I am curious if anyone has used the
"Tetra Gun" cleaning & lubrication products.
They are being promoted as better then conventional cleaners & lubes. They supposedly bond with the gun metal.
Thanks,
Mike

Seems to work much better than synthetics like rem nitro and certainly better than reg oil lubricants.

Boy you are gonna get a lot of "the best is" replies on this.

I have used everything except TW25B so far. Glock & Sig are supposed to be using it so I will most likely try it too, but I have heard that it is or close to the same as Tetra. Tetra is what I am currently using and I think I will keep using it. Their Copper Solvent is right up there with Sweets and it is a little less intense.

It doesn't seem to gunk up the firing pin safety on my Glocks like other greases do. And I can actually feel the difference pulling back the slide on my Glocks after applying it.

Everyone has their own opinion and like I said you will probably get a lot of them with this post. But I don't think you would be disappointed trying it.

I have used Tetra for about 10 years and they make good products. The original Tetra kits from many years ago didn't really do anything for copper fouling. I haven't tried their new formulas that remove copper. I use IOSSO for copper removal.

The cleaner/light lubricant in the aerosol can I still use occasionally to blast out crud on guns that can't handle something harsh like GunScrubber or brake cleaner. It doesn't do as well as those, but it also doesn't strip all of the lubricant out either.

The Tetra Lubricant in the smaller bottles is advertised as you mention, in that it bonds with the metal, etc. It does, and on a thoroughly clean barrel after application you will find it will tighten the groups after about 20 or so rounds fired through the gun. The original Tetra instructions recommended application on a warm, clean barrel to maximize the metal bonding. I never tried that method to be honest.

The Tetra grease served me well, but has been replaced with Neco Molyslide. I have found that to be far superior to the Tetra grease.

As for TW25B, I picked up a tube of that stuff and it smells like repackaged Tetra. It is sold by Kleenbore and they repackage a lot of different products with their own names, FYI. So it may very well be the same. Call them up and ask.

When Tetra first came out years ago it was touted as the newest miracle in gun cleaning. At the time, that was quite true. They make good stuff, but some find the odor objectionable.

Tetra Gun L is an excellent and long lasting lubricant---I have seen none better, and I use it where I can.Unfortunately it does have a noticeable smell-like dog ****.

This Sat. I went to Glock days at the local gun shop. They had a crew of three Tetra people cleaning guns. I was impressed and ideed did buy their products.

Tetra seems to work for me. The odor does not bother me, but then again, I have a dog. Drives one shooting buddy nuts and another can't smell it at all. Must be an individual thing.

The rifle barrel smoothing folks in Houston (Blackstar) have stated that barrels cleaned with Tetra (or the old S&W Friction Block) are not eligable for their service. Must be something to the "bonding" claims.

I have been using Tetra products on my rifles and pistols for about 2 years now. I hightly recommend these products.

I just bought some at the show this weekend, and my P220 is now cleaner than it has been since I bought it. Works much better than Hoppes and Shooter's Choice for me.

I use the bore cleaner, cleaner/lubricant, lubricant/oil and grease in most applications now. I still use Break Free on my AR-15, but that may change when I run out.

I use all of the Tetra products, and I really have enjoyed how well they work. I have noticed that it takes longer to break a gun in if you use it on the slide rails, however. Once the gun is broken in, you will be surprised with how slick it gets.
It smells different, yes, but less odor than Hoppes, etc. No one is going to "print" your CCW gun by their nose with Tetra products, and they don't get into your clothes.
