Any adverse effects?

Are there any adverse effects to occasionally using a little FLITZ metal polish and a cotton bore mop to clean up the chamber and barrel of a gun? It really leaves a nice and smooth surface. I don't forsee any problems since FLITZ isn't supposed to be abrasive. Just thought I'd run it by you guys for your opinion.

I would have to be a little skeptical of any metal polish that claims to be non-abrasive, though it may be a very mild abrasive. I doubt it would hurt steel any, but I also doubt it will do much more than polish up any copper/lead deposits that are in the barrel or chamber.
