Any 8mm Rem Mag shooters out there?

Sub MOA

God knows I don't need any more rifles, but if I was to add to my collection I think I would give some serious consideration to procuring a 8mm Rem Mag. I've always been intriqued with this cartridge. What can you 8mmMag shooters tell me about this idea? Is recoil as fierce as everyone says? (I have shot .375H&H without problem). Regarding availability of ammo, I'm a dedicated handloader so finding factory ammo is not an issue. Don't know that many factory rifles are currently chambered for this cartridge, but I think Remington had a limited run a few years ago. Love to hear your comments.

Sub MOA. This is strictly from memory, so if I make a mistake, no flames please. It's hot enough where I live.
I think the main problem with the 8MM Rem. was not only with it's recoil, but the
p!$$poor bullets it was loaded with. By the time Nosler came out with a partition bullet for the round, it was too late. It was felt by some, that it did not do anything any better than the .300 Win. Mag. or .300 Weatherby, and could not equal the .338 Win. Mag. with bullet weight.
Just my opinion, but I think they should have started out with the 200 gr. bullet as the light load, a 220 gr. for the medium weight and a 250 gr. for the heavy weight bullet.
I had the pleasure (?) of shooting an 8MM Mag. once. Recoil in the Mod. 700 felt sharper than either my .300 Win. Mag. or my .338 Win. Mag. I realize that felt recoil is subjective, just take that as how it felt to me. I think a good part of that was that the rifle did not seem to be heavy enough for a cartridge of that power level. Again, just my thoughts.
I think that about the only way you will get one now is either find a used one, or order one through Remington's custom shop.
