Antique Gun Shows

I understand that there are a few very large, multiple day antique firearm shows throughout the U.S. I would like to know what some of the best are. There is the International Beinfield Antique Gun Show in Las Vegas on January 21, 1917. However, I am looking for something sooner, sometime during this summer.

I have been to that antique arms show in Las Vegas, years ago, and it was awesome. A lot of really interesting stuff. I haven't been to it lately so I can't vouch for it today.
 
I understand about Google, but I am looking for the big shows that both collectors and dealers go to alike. I think there are a limited number of them in the U.S.

It would be so tempting to take a few of the less ornate ones to the range.

"...But not to 1917..." Kind of depends on where you end up. The 28th (North-west) Battalion, CEF was sitting in trenches near Vimy Ridge and General Bieliaev was appointed Russian Minister of War on that date. snicker.
Gun shows, antique stuff or not, are pretty much the same. You have to know what stuff is and what it's worth. And having cash can seal a deal faster than anything else.
 
T.O. Hier - that's exactly why I don't buy antiques. I don't consider myself knowledgeable enough to delve in them and more importantly, don't want the responsibility for care and preservation of them.
 
@g. willikers: Thanks for looking at my Colt firearm collection. I have not shot any of them. I am afraid of damaging the antique 1851 Navy. However, I will shoot that Python and Officer. I have other firearms, but I have decided to focus on Colt pistols, and in particular, antique 1848 and 1849 Pocket revolvers.

@4V50 Gary: I have made mistakes with the care of my Baby Dragoon. This has devalued the revolver. I guess I am learning the hard way. Thoughtlessness on my part.

I find the pricing to be the most difficult part. I have looked at several hundred images of different Pocket revolvers and their associated price. I have studied them closely over and over again. I find the prices on the Internet, like GI, to be overpriced, sometimes very significantly overpriced.

I want to go to antique gun shows to become familiar with the hands on evaluation of antique Colt firearms and their pricing. In particular, I want to identify 100% authentic finish that I understand is unique to antique Colt firearms. Besides, attending a big gun show in another part of the country from where I live will be a nice little vacation for me.

Collectors Arms Dealers Association show. They shut down for the summer months and run through the fall winter, & spring.

You might google Collectors Gun Show & nearby states.
 
I don't believer I've ever seen a all Antique Show in this area. Quite a few modern gun shows throughout the year are typical for this area I'd say. (MN)
 
Bob - with antiques the only thing you're supposed to do is conserve them. Clean them, remove rust (Frog's Lube or coconut oil with a nickel as a scraper) andthen preserve them (Renaissance Wax). Thankfully I picked up the museum attitude from conservators I knew and the rust removal technique from school.
