Anschutz Savage Disassembly

I have a J.G. ANSCHÜTZ GmbH & Co. Savage Model 1515/16 .22 WMR rifle that was inherited from my father, and Grandfather before him.

Question is is there a way to disassemble the bolt assembly on these. I am able to take the stock off with the 1 screw but the trigger/bolt/barrel is 1 complete assembly and I'm not seeing how it comes apart for cleaning. I can run a rod down the barrel and wipe some things off, but I'd like to do a complete cleaning as it has not been fired in many years and I'd like to take it to the range and see how it performs.

Hey Bud,

First, for three years I worked for the Anschutz National Service Center in COS as a gunsmith. (that was nine years ago)

I'll admit that my memory is a little foggy but I think your rifle is sort of along the same bloodline as the 64 action. The vast majority of guns I worked on were late model 54's and the 2000 series square receivers which are both quite a bit different than what you have there. (target rifle stuff for ISSF)

If you can, get the bolt out of the receiver and take a couple photos of it. That would be a big help.

Not even really sure how to get the bolt out of the receiver. Took some pictures though.

I really don"t see a way to take it apart unless I'm supposed to punch out all the pins like on the AR-15.
