Another weird timing issue

I ordered a Pietta NMA with 5.5" barrel from Cabela's in December. I couldn't pass up the deal. It was back ordered but I finally got it last Friday. I have two other Pietta NMAs and one Uberti NMA carbine. I am totally impressed with this gun. The fit and finish are perfect. The lockup is tighter than any of my other revolvers, including modern ones. The bores line up perfectly with the barrel. Just an outstanding revolver. Here's where it gets a bit tricky. I took the R&D cylinder out of my pietta target model and tried it in the new gun. All seems great until I de-cock the gun. The cylinder will spin back quite a bit when I slowly drop the hammer. I cocked it again and watched the bolt while I slowly de-cocked the hammer and the bolt retracts into the frame just as soon as I start dropping the hammer . I put the c&b cylinder back in the gun and the bolt will stay locked into the cylinder bolt stops while de-cocking, just like it is supposed to do. It only improperly retracts with the conversion cylinder in it. I plan to check the revolver with some spare c&b cylinders tonight and see what happens. I don't intend to use a conversion in this gun but it baffles me as to why the bolt is dropping like that.
