Another Smith and Wesson

Two weeks ago, I posted some pics of a Model 27-2 that I picked up at a LGS. Well, I guess lightning can strike twice in the same place. I walked in there today and in the used gun case was the nicest Model 19 that I have seen in some time. Easily a 99%+ gun, it came with the original box, cleaning tools, SAT and paperwork. The only bummer is the original target stocks are missing and a set of nice walnut targets were on it.

After negotiating a bit I broke out my wallet and it came home with me. Serial number points to it being produced in 1967.

Now I am on the hunt for a set of the original stocks

You know the drill....

What did you have to give for it?

Well....this one was so nice, (it really is a 99% gun) I paid a bit more than I wanted to. BUT, since the original numbered box came with it along with the SAT & cleaning stuff, I ponied up $625 for it.

It's only money....

Excellent grips. They look like Coke Bottle style but just don't appear right.

Here are real cokes on 2 pre-numbered S&W's. Real cokes are going for a solid $300+ nowadays.

When I compare them posted I would guess they are. Excellent buy!

You're right. They are aftermarket coke style stocks made by Eagle. I decided to add the grip medallions this morning. Now they don't look so "off".

Neat and thank you for the insight on the grips.

I was thinking about getting some Eagles for my other big N frames. Now that I see the difference (Thank you Mike), I will definitely do so and retire my original grips so I don't keep scraping them up during the ejection stroke.

Wow highpower3006! What a find! And absolutely beautiful piece. The cylinder barely has a dragline and the finish is outstanding.

Almost too nice to shoot. Almost ;)

Update! I scored a set of gen-u-wine S&W diamond target stocks a couple of days ago. I finally got off my you-know-what and put them on today. Now I can rest in piece.:)
